Rifles is a United States Infantry unit.

Overview[edit | edit source]

Rifles represent the average American Infantry in World War II. Each Infantry Squad comprised of 12 men with two man Staff Sergeant and Sergeant command element with a seven men assault element including two scouts and three man Automatic Rifle group of an automatic rifleman, his assistant and an ammunition bearer. Each Infantry Company after the Normandy Landing gain six more BARs to be issued out to subordinate units to increase the firepower.

1st Infantry had 16th and 18th Infantry Regiment with 116th Infantry Regiment from the 29th Infantry Division replacing the 26th Infantry Regiment during the Normandy Landing.

2nd Infantry had 9th, 23rd and 38th Infantry Regiment organic.

4th Armored had often got infantry regiments or battalions attached from neighboring infantry divisions.
