26-y L. Gornostrelkovy Korpus unlike their Rifle Counterparts which commanded Divisions, the Light rifle Corps were made up of two brigades. 126-y L. Gornostrelkovy Korpus was amade up of two brigades 31st Ski Brigade and the 72nd Naval Rifle Brigade.
72nd Naval Rifle Brigade was created from cadre from the Pacific fleet during October–November 1941. This unit represent the command elements of the three rifle battalions.
