AB M2HB HMG is a United States Infantry unit.

A machine-gun emplacement, using the powerful Browning M2 .50 BMG machinegun.
In the 101st Airborne, M2 were used in the 81st Airborne Anti-Aircraft Battalion's Batteries D, E and F which had 12 M2 each. These provide air defense at first but were equipped with ground mounts to support the infantry. These batteries unlike their anti-tank counterparts who went in by glider came to the Normandy Front by sea with the assault wave of engineers and infantrymen of the 8th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division landing at H+15 minutes. These were the first air defense units on the beach and remained in this position until 11 June when they rejoined the Division.
Antiaircraft and Antitank Battery of 377th Parachute Field Artillery Battalion had two platoons of four M2HB teams.
